How can YOU fundraise?

Every day at One Girl Can, we see people, families and companies make the decision to give back to help our girls. We often receive requests about how to organize fundraising events and activities. You can make a difference by creating your own project or event that raises funds and awareness for girls’ education. Fundraising does not have to be difficult!

We came up with a few options to help you choose a fundraising method that best suits your interests:

  1. Hold a Fundraiser Sale!

If you like to bake, perhaps you may choose to hold a bake sale. Or, if you enjoy making jewellery, a handmade jewellery sale can be a great way to fundraise! Our dear sponsor, Judy, fundraised by selling bubble tea:

Judy Hyojoo Rhee and the University Hill Secondary School's RoadtoSchool Club fundraised through a bubble tea sale. Rhee also held summer debate and public speaking classes for middle and high school students.

2. Start a FundRazr!

FundRazr is a crowdfunding platform that allows you to easily share the fundraiser page across different medias and track your progress towards your goal. We love FundRazr- and would be more than happy to set up a page for your One Girl Can fundraiser!

Vega is fundraising towards Sarah's education to help her achieve her goal of becoming a Doctor!

3. Use the Birthday Facebook Fundraising Platform!

Why not pledge your birthday and tell your family and friends that rather than buy you a present, they can help you educate a girl instead!

Around your birthday, Facebook suggests starting a birthday fundraising campaign for an organization of your choice! You can find the "Fundraisers" button under the 'Explore' category on the left-hand side of your feed. For more information: https://socialgood.fb.com/charitable-giving/birthday-fundraiser/

Have a birthday coming up? Consider starting a Facebook Birthday fundraiser!

4. Throw a Party!

Feeling adventurous? How about putting together a dinner gathering? Or a themed party? Invite your friends and encourage them to make a donation towards your cause!

Deb Handerson (kneeling, striped shirt) organized a dinner party in support of One Girl Can!

You can do pretty much anything to fundraise for One Girl Can and we're here to support you every step of the way! Send us an email and we can help you brainstorm ideas.

GIVE TO THE CYCLE OF EMPOWERMENT

Your gift today will help drive a cycle of empowerment that will lift up a generation — one girl at a time. Because when you help one girl overcome the oppression of poverty and gender inequality, she can do the same for another. Every gift – whether large or small – will help to empower a generation of girls.

GIVE TO AN AREA OF GREATEST NEED

When you give to our Area of Greatest Need you give One Girl Can the flexibility to respond quickly to changing needs on the ground, and the ability to take advantage of emerging opportunities. You’ll help address the highest priority needs of deserving girls and young women and make a vital difference with your gift today.
