One Girl Can's Leadership Conference: Empowering Kenyan Girls to Solve Global Challenges

The annual "Becoming the Best Version Of Me" leadership conference, hosted by One Girl Can, a Canadian and Kenyan registered charitable organization is taking place from September 15-17, 2023 at Nairobi's Pride Inn Plaza Hotel, is dedicated to empowering the next generation of young female leaders in Kenya.

Our theme for this year's event, "Breaking Down Barriers, Building Careers", focuses on the role of technology and the power of women in STEM to overcome traditional obstacles. As we navigate the post-pandemic world and its economic impact, it is crucial to address gender disparities and promote education, climate change awareness, and girls' empowerment.

Natasha Questel, CEO of One Girl Can, emphasizes the timeliness of this conference. With the unemployment rate for girls in certain regions of Kenya at 5.8%, achieving full gender equality remains a distant goal. We believe that education, learning about sexual rights, and encouraging girls in STEM are key components of the solution.

Through this transformative conference, we provide Kenyan girls with the tools they need to find meaningful employment and overcome barriers. Since its inception, the conference has empowered 426 girls to pursue their dreams and contribute to solutions for global challenges.

Join us for inspiring keynote speeches, including one by Prof. Margaret Kobia, a renowned former Cabinet Minister for the Ministry of Public Service, Youth, Gender, Social Protection, and Special Programmes. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to engage with Canadian leaders and female executives in STEM.

Are you ready to be part of the change? Join us at the conference on September 16 and witness firsthand the transformational work happening in Kenya. Capture inspiring stories of resilience and determination as we strive for climate change action, education, empowerment, and gender equality.
