When girls are educated and empowered they marry later and are less likely to experience spousal violence, they have fewer children, they are healthier and more likely to seek quality healthcare for themselves and their children, and they invest a higher percentage of their income in their communities.
Poverty can only be alleviated and gender parity achieved when when women join the workforce, begin to earn their own living, and assume positions of leadership in the community, in business, in technology, in healthcare, and in politics.
